The story about Pip and his expectations, and ultimately about the warmth of unlikely friends who are like family members. It's about forgiveness and charity also. It's not a mystery novel but is filled with good suspense and lively/atmospheric descriptions of place, people, and events. Mostly set in London.
-It's worth a re-read just to learn how to describe people and happenings.
